Most think getting a record deal and being an artist is easy, the artist known as Young Invent knows differently. His life has not been easy and filled with hardships. Born as Jeffrey Murphy to his mother Cassandra, his life has been tough. When he was 12, Jeffrey was hit by a speeding car and at 20, he survived after having 5 gun shot wounds. A year later, he would be shot three times close range. The hospital was not too optimistic about Young Invent surviving as the doctors pronounced him dead but God thought otherwise and he lived to keep pursuing his career in rap.

The reason Young Invent earned his name was through his fans who took notice of his creative quickness, his unique invention of ideas and the way he paints stories to beats at the drop of a hat. He can hold his own in an MC battle with witty freestyles as well as construct catchy hooks that go with thought provoking rhymes. His style is not limited to street thug, or club, but is very versatile and will stimulate the most intellectual of hip-hop fans. This attribute will give him a long lasting career amongst the one dimensional MCs and one hit wonders present in today’s Hip-Hop society.

His style reminds me a little bit of Biggie, Rick Ross, Skillz and then also Young Invent is also an artist entirely of himself.
